Delicious Pomegranate Cocktail in 5 Easy Steps

by Patricia Fioriello on August 27, 2009

Pomegranate

What is pomegranate juice?

Pomegranate is a shrub or small tree native to Southwest Asia.  The fruit of this tree has a tough reddish rind and contains seeds that are enclosed in a red pulp. Pomegranate juice provides about 16% of adult daily vitamin C requirement per 100 ml serving. It is a good source of vitamin B5 (pantothenic acid), potassium and antioxidant polyphenols.

Steps to a delicious Pomegranate cocktail

Step #1 – Place cup of ice in shaker.

Step #2 – Use a top shelf vodka.  Add 3-4 ounces of the vodka in shaker.

Step #3 – Use 100% pomegranate juice.  Add 4 ounces of pomegranate to the shaker with the ice and vodka.  Can also add 2 ounces of water if want to decrease strength of juice.

Step #4 – Squeeze lime juice of 1-2 limes. With or without pulp depending on your preference.  Add to shaker with ice, vodka, and pomegranate.

Step #5 – Vigorously shake ingredients and serve.
