There are various foods that do not have any cholesterol and some foods that have low cholesterol levels whereas dairy products and animal foods contain cholesterol.
The foods that are free from cholesterol originate from plants; these foods are legumes, whole grains, vegetables and fruits. If you want to prepare a diet that has low cholesterol then it will generally involve a combination of low cholesterol foods and cholesterol free foods like fish, poultry and low-fat dairy products. If you want to lower the risk of heart disease then you should select cholesterol free foods.
When you go to the grocery store these days you will usually find products that are labeled as “no cholesterol” in fact they have an entire section written as “cholesterol free” as cholesterol is just found in products originated from animals.
Examples of cholesterol free foods are legumes, fruits, whole grains and vegetables. They have no cholesterol and are low in total fat and saturated fat. Hence, if you want to consume a low cholesterol diet eat at least three to five servings of vegetables and fruits and six to eleven servings of legumes and whole grains.
