Step #1: Buy Cooking Tools
Four necessary tools. Pizza peel (also called a paddle), pizza stone, rolling pin, and pizza wheel (cutter.) If you buy a pizza making kit, check that the kit doesn’t have unnecessary extra purchases. All you need are four basic pizza cooking tools.

Step #2: Shop for Ingredients
1 can of tomato sauce
1 package mozzarella
1 bag of dough per pizza (you can buy it at Trader Joe’s)
few tablespoons of olive oil
cornmeal
flour
fresh basil
Italian spices (oregano, garlic)
special toppings
Important: Take pizza dough out of refrigerator an hour before making the pizzas. The pizza dough must be room temperature.

Step #3: Make Sauce
Heat one tablespoon of olive oil in sauce pan. Add chopped garlic. Brown. Add tomato sauce. Season with oregano. Simmer for approximately ten minutes.

Step #4: Shred Mozzarella

Step #5: Roll Dough
On a flat surface or a wooden cutting board, sprinkle with flour first. Place your dough, sprinkle a pinch of flour on the dough. With your hands make the dough in a shape of a circle. Use your finger tips to stretch the circle or use a rolling pin if preferred. Stretch the dough as much as you want. And it’s ready to transfer to the paddle.
*Remember to sprinkle cornmeal on the paddle before transferring your pizza onto it. Otherwise, it will be almost impossible to slide it onto the hot stone. Also, sprinkle cornmeal on the stone before sliding the pizza onto it.
Step #6: Drizzle Oil

Step #7: Top Pizza
Spread sauce on top of dough. Layer mozzarella. Add other toppings as desired. Favorites are pepperoni, tomato, olives, jalapenos. Add one, a few, or none – just cheese is always good.
Step #8: Bake Pizza
Preheat oven 500 degrees. Place stone in oven before you preheat. Cook pizza for approximately 12 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is brown.

Step #9: Cool and Slice Pizza

Step #10: Eat and Enjoy
