#1 – You must always start with a good quality food; freezing will preserve the food quality, but will not enhance it.
#2 – Prevent the food from air and try to keep the moisture intact. If there is less moisture and more air it may dry the food.
#3 – Always boil the food a little before freezing. Freeze the food as soon as you can after boiling it and do not overload your freezer.
#4 – Remember to label food packets with date before freezing them as it will help you to remember the process date and the expiration date.
#5 – You can freeze any kind of food like: vegetables, fruits, seafood, poultry, nuts or dried fruits, pastries and sweets, etc. Some of the foods like mayonnaise, custard, cream puddings and fillings, wheat flour gravies, cheese, gelatin salads, eggs and spices, etc, cannot be stored.
#6 - All these foods may differ in the freezing process from one another as they belong to different food group.
#7 – Vegetables need to be blanched before freezing in order to maintain its color and flavor.
#8 - To preserve fruits you must put them in syrup or sugar water before packing them for freezing.
#9 – Meats are best to freeze in the same covering as they are in the supermarkets.
#10 – To freeze fish, first you must cut it into pieces and then clean it thoroughly before freezing.
